Matt is currently the Manager of Data Engineering at mPulse Mobile, a company providing innovative messaging solutions to Health Care providers. Previously, Matt was the founding Data Engineer for Tribune Interactive’s Data Science team, designing and implementing an in-house News Content Recommendation system that significantly outperformed third-party solutions, regularly delivering 4x click-through rates during “breaking news,” when compared to legacy Recommenders. Matt has been a contributor and advocate for open-source software for many years, and has spoken at conferences around the country, including Red Hat’s All Things Open Conference, Big Data Day Los Angeles, and DrupalCon.
